Dr. David H. Demmer
Clinical psychologist, Co-founder, and Clinical Director of Wellington Street Psychology
Dave received his Bachelor of Psychology (with honours) and his Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical) from Deakin University, Australia. Dave has a clinical and research background in men’s mental health and the mental health of the LGBTQIA+ community, working closely with these populations since the beginning of his career. Dave’s therapeutic style is collaborative, authentic, and strategy-focused. As well as 1:1 talk therapy, Dave is trained in couples therapy and holds a diploma of clinical hypnosis.
As well as private practice, Dave has worked clinically within the private hospital sector with both community and acute populations and as a university lecturer. He is also the current Chair of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists Victorian Committee.
Dr. Bella Marker
Senior Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Bella Marker is a registered clinical psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Monash University where she focused on anxiety disorders.
Clinically, Bella adopts a compassionate and holistic approach when working with clients. She is a LGBTIQ+ friendly practitioner trained in Compassion-Focussed Therapy, and believes in the importance of empathy, collaboration, and a non-judgmental attitude.
Dr. Julia Hosie
Julia Hosie is a registered psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. Julia is an LGBTQIA+ friendly practitioner and adopts a non-judgemental, pragmatic and holistic approach to working with clients. She has worked with a variety of inpatient and outpatient clients in both community and forensic settings. She has experience working with a number of clinical presentations and psychosocial difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, schizophrenia, stress, self-esteem, assertiveness, anger management, problematic/offending behaviours. She has undertaken training and has experience in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, emotion focused therapy, social and coping skills training and educational/cognitive assessments.
Dr. Jamie Byrne
Dr. Jamie Byrne (pronouns: she/her) is a registered clinical psychologist who works with adolescents (12+) and adults. She has experience working with a range of concerns including: mood, anxiety, sleep, trauma, substance use, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Jamie takes a humanistic and positive psychology approach to her practice. In developing a working relationship with clients, she values collaboration, authenticity, respect, and empathy. Jamie draws on a range of evidence-based approaches to collaboratively develop an individually-tailored treatment plan suited to the needs of each client. Her approach is to consider mental health concerns in the broader context of an individual’s life, personal narrative, and current circumstances
Mr. Kefu Xie
Kefu is a registered psychologist with experience working with adults, youth and families. He is an LGBTQIA+ friendly practitioner and adopts a collaborative, non-judgemental, and empathetic approach to working with clients. Kefu has experience treating a variety of problems. His areas of interest include depression, anxiety, substance-related issues, and trauma.
Kefu received supervised training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused CBT. He has also undertaken further training and conducted program evaluation in Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT). He is passionate with an eclectic approach that is tailored based on individual needs and empirical evidence.
Ms. Ridhima Tandon
Ridhima is a registered psychologist. She takes a warm, welcoming, and person-centred approach to therapy.
Ridhima is experienced in CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapy.
Ursula has a background in administration and manages the day-to-day operations of MSP. Ursula is currently working towards her registration as a psychologist having completed an undergraduate degree and honours in psychology. She is currently completing her Masters of Clinical Psychology.
